Burek, also known as Börek or Bourekas are classic Balkan, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern savory or sweet pies enrobed in delicate layers of crispy phyllo. A sister pastry to Greek Spanakopita and Tiropita, savory Burek are traditionally filled with cheese, potatoes or ground meat. Djerdan Leek & Cheese Burek Pies are “bake-at-home” versions of the delicious burek we serve in restaurants. Our Leek & Cheese Burek feature a mouthwatering blend of fresh leeks and creamy ricotta, tangy Feta and silky cream cheese nestled between delicate layers of phyllo. Seasoned and baked to perfection in the shape of a beautiful spiral, each family-size pie serves 4-6 people as an appetizer and 2-3 people as a main dish. Enjoy with a dollop of tzatziki, labneh or Greek yogurt – topped with diced tomatoes, basil and a drizzle of olive oil.
