DONCAFE "Moment" Coffee
As any coffee connoisseur will attest, there is no substitute for a freshly brewed cup of coffee in the morning, or as the ending to a satisfying meal. Since the 14th century, there has been a special coffee making and coffee drinking tradition in the Balkans, the Mediterranean and much of the Middle East using unfiltered coffee. And, since 1994, Doncafé Moment Coffee has been a part of it. For our “Moment” Coffee, we select and then roast the highest quality coffee beans and grind them into an extra-fine powder. The result is a coffee with a bright aroma and bold flavor perfect for this cherished coffee. Unlike American filtered drip coffee or Italian Espresso, to make Doncafé Moment Coffee you’ll need a small narrow necked coffee pot called a “Briki,” “Cezve” or “Ibrik.” The preparation involves gently boiling the coffee with cold water – adding sugar and ground cardamom or cardamom pods, if wanted – until it comes to a foam. The foam is an essential part of this special brew, as are the coffee grinds that should sink the bottom of the demitasse-sized cup before drinking. Never stir before drinking and never add milk. Wait a couple of minutes and then savor our wonderful classic roast with family and friends.
