MARCO POLO Farina
Farina is a finely milled meal made from the endosperm of hard wheat. With a granular texture akin to grits, farina is most commonly used to make warm breakfast cereal. Marco Polo Farina is made with 100% farina from high quality crops of hard wheat. With a slightly sweet bland flavor, our farina lends itself beautifully to both sweet and savory preparations. Use our farina to make a delicious breakfast porridge with warm milk and fresh berries, sliced bananas or diced apples, almonds or walnuts, raisins or dried cherries - and sweeten with sugar or maple syrup. Top with chia, hemp or flax seeds for an extra nutritious start to your day. Marco Polo Farina can also be prepared like polenta or rice: browned in olive oil or butter before adding cooking liquid and aromatics. Bakers and bread makers often add a bit of farina to their batter and dough mixtures to help them from sticking to baking surfaces. As with semolina, the farina will appear is on the bottom of the finished baked goods.
