MISKO #3 Macaroni
Available in 600 shapes and sizes, pasta is one of the world’s most beloved and accessible comfort foods. While many pasta forms are universal, each nation has its own pasta-making traditions and regional specialties. At Misko, we have been making traditional Italian-style pasta in Greece since 1927. A thinner version of #2 Macaroni and a sister pasta to bucatini, #3 Macaroni are long thick strands of pasta with a hole in the middle. Misko #3 Macaroni is traditionally used to make “Makaronia me Kima.” It contains a “Greek Bolognese” sauce with a chili-like consistency that is spooned over the noodles. Each family has their own version of this classic dish, made a tomato and ground meat sauce, seasoned with cinnamon, allspice and cloves – and topped with Mizithra, Kefalotyri or Parmesan cheese. Misko #3 Macaroni is delicious in Macaronatha Pasta with octopus, calamari or shrimp. Once you start working your culinary magic with our #3 Macaronii, you will find they are a wonderful blank canvas for a host of red, white and olive-oil based sauces.
