Honey

The rich flora and fauna of the Mediterranean and Middle East provide a paradise for bees that results in some of the finest honey in the world. The herbal bouquet is generally less sweet and more complex and concentrated in flavor than American honey. Coveted for its aromatic qualities, these unique honey varieties are produced from mountain bees that collect pollen and nectar primarily from wild thyme, heather, fir, orange, chestnut blossoms, and pine. Honey is a more flavorful, healthful alternative to sugar and is the basis for most beloved desserts from the region. It is also perfect for mixing with yogurt or using as a light sweetener for tomato-based stews, sauces and spreads. Some of our honeys come with the comb attractively intact in the jar.
